GW Devices Supports Women in Tech

Django is an excellent web framework that’s really helped us deliver quality software for a number of years now, but the most amazing thing about it is possibly the Django Girls project. From their site: “Django Girls is a non-profit organization that empowers and helps women to organize free, one-day programming workshops by providing tools, resources and support.” – To date Django Girls has organised 105 free workshops, giving 3235 women in 51 countries their first official introduction to a career in tech.

Päivi has attended one event, helped organise another and now along with Claire Gowler and Samantha Deakin is bringing this imitative to Sheffield for the first time.  Well done everyone!

If you’d like to apply to attend, or offer to be a mentor, applications are open until the 15th of January, and the event will be held at Union St on the 19th and 20th February.
